Show of Support for Macmillan

 Macmillan main story

Sutton shoppers showed their support for Macmillan by digging deep and helping Idlewells Shopping Centre staff to raise over £450 for the cancer support charity's World's Biggest Coffee Morning on 26th September.

The money was raised during the shopping centre's cake sale, activities, tombola - and online 'Send Us A Selfie' competition held mid-September to 5th October. Throughout the day Idlewells' wonderful shoppers dug deep to win prizes donated by generous Idlewells retailers; Cake Fusion, Sweet Inspiration, Boots, B&M and Paper Kisses - and buy cakes donated by Cake Fusion and Scones baked by Sutton Community Academy students.

Throughout the day Massarella's Cafe - and community hub in Idlewells - generously donated 50p for every hot drink purchased out of its peak lunchtime period too!

Send Us A Selfie invited the centre's Facebook family to send in a picture of themselves enjoying a cuppa in their favourite mug.  There were over 50 entries with hundreds of votes placed to reveal the overall winner of £75 to spend in the centre - Claire Milner, with 97 likes against her picture.  See full album of selfies here.
