Idlewells Shopping Centre has announced a change of format for its third £1,000 Community Fund donation, splitting the donation between its local community Food Banks and one cause that has recently hit close to home.

The team, comprising Idlewells and Ashfield Chad, has decided to pledge £500 of the month’s donation to people in Ashfield who are in need of the very basic support – food.

“We do have a Food Bank collection point here in the Idlewells, but we believe that giving to Food Banks is not something that the public are particularly tuned into yet,” Said Chloe O’Donnell, Assistant Manager at Idlewells. “We hope that, as well as providing much needed donations of food, we can help raise awareness of Food Banks - and their importance to the local community."

The remaining £500 will be donated to a very special organisation that recently supported the daughter and granddaughter of a valued staff member here at Idlewells. Details of this, with opportunities for further donations, will be displayed in the centre later this month.

The Community Fund scheme was launched by Idlewells and the Ashfield Chad in 2014, and will remain part of the Idlewells’ calendar of activity across 2015, so keep watching for future opportunities to get involved or receive a donation.  If you would like to nominate a good cause, or make any suggestions for future Community Fund donations, please contact a member of the Idlewells team.

Following is a list of Foodbanks that will shortly be contacted by Idlewells to arrange a share of the £500 donation. This list was kindly provided by the Chad team.
