Take a seat on the ‘Happy To Chat Bench’ at Idlewells Shopping Centre
With Mental Health Awareness Week just around the corner, Idlewells Shopping Centre has introduced a ‘Happy To Chat Bench’ to encourage shoppers to interact with one another.
This year, the Mental Health Foundation has announced ‘loneliness’ as the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week, noting that it is something which affects millions of people in the UK every year and is a key driver of poor mental health. Idlewells Shopping Centre wants to designate the bench as a location for people to feel less lonely and invite their visitors to sit down on the bench if they would like to engage in conversation with a like-minded stranger. It will be a place where people can form connections with others in the community.
Idlewells Shopping Centre Manager, Chloe O’Donnell says “Here at Idlewells, we are really focused on our community and are always pleased to see the connections which are formed in and around our shopping centre. We hope that our ‘Happy To Chat Bench’ will be well supported by our shoppers and become the foundation of many great friendships.”
The ‘Happy To Chat Bench’ can be found between Bonmarché and Cafe Moda at Idlewells Shopping Centre.
