Tranquil Tuesdays at Idlewells!
Looking for a more peaceful time to shop? Here at Idlewells Shopping Centre, we have quiet shopping that occurs every Tuesday, from 8am-12pm to help those with sensory overload, such as Autism, Dementia and MS.
Sensory overload can happen when you’re getting more input from your five senses than your brain can sort through and process. Multiple conversations going on in one room, flashing overhead lights, or loud music can all produce the symptoms of sensory overload.
During our Tranquil Tuesday Sessions, we turn off all music in the centre with no events or fire alarm tests for the duration of the session. Hand dryers will also be switched off in the toilets and paper towels will be provided instead. There will also be a quiet area available for free use in the Library during these sessions.
Tranquil Tuesdays are available not just for the Autism, Dementia and MS community, but anyone who wishes to experience a quiet and more relaxing shopping experience.
