The practice was opened in 1995 with a huge expansion into the shopping centre’s former basement car park in 2017. This expansion has made the Sutton branch the largest Specsavers in the UK – and indeed worldwide.
Full eye examinations including digital retinal photography can be booked.
In addition, enhanced eye examinations (including 3-D eye scans using OCT) are available at a cost of £10. This advanced scan allows accredited optometrists to view the retina in much greater detail and is useful in the early detection of conditions such as; macular degeneration, glaucoma and retinal detachment, amongst others.
Health Check appointments are available for any occasions where you have a concern with your eyes that is not affecting your vision. A health check costs £25 and it allows the optometrist to fully assess your concern and recommend the best care.
The store boasts hundreds of frame choices and customers can utilise a unique virtual try-on technology called Frame Styler, that use facial analysis to scan your face shape and features; taking the guesswork out of buying glasses.
The store can offer a free contact lens trial – book in for an assessment, select the contact lenses that are right for you and then they will give you one pair of monthly contact lenses or five pairs of daily disposable contact lenses to try, free. If you’ve had an eye test in the last two years you don’t need to have another one before you are assessed for contact lenses, but it makes sense to have a current prescription in order for you to receive the appropriate lenses for your eyes.
A full diabetic screening service is available, with accredited Optical Assistants for the North Nottinghamshire programme and also participate in the fast-track wet macular degeneration scheme and cataract schemes in conjunction with the local hospital.
Sutton Specsavers has the required equipment necessary to carry out specialist visual field testing for the DVLA.
A full hearing service is available, with a dedicated room and hearing booth.
“Specsavers has built a reputation for friendly, professional and caring service. We aim to make it quick and easy to arrange an appointment, and orders for glasses will be completed with the minimum of fuss. There are hundreds of frame styles to choose from and if you need any advice, our team are available to help. We collect feedback from our clients daily and use this to improve our service. There is an online survey with a monthly opportunity to win a £500 national prize.
Specsavers combines the friendliness and local knowledge that comes from being part of the community, with the major benefits of a large optical group. Our Clear Price policy, free eye care for children and a complete contact lens fitting and aftercare service are just some of the advantages of choosing Specsavers Opticians.”
